Welcome

People are drawn to hypnosis for a variety of reasons.  Some people have seen hypnosis used in a variety of contexts including the movies or a stage show and they are intrigued and want to experience what the show is suggesting.  As with many things in the media, the representation of this can be inaccurate or exaggerated.

Part of our process is to teach you some basic procedures of self-hypnosis that you can practice and take control of your life.

What is Hypnosis?

C. Roy Hunter (2013) in his book The Art of Hypnosis: Mastering Basic Techniques offers a suggestion from Charles Tebbits as the definition of hypnosis being “..a natural state of mind and induced normally in everyday living much more often than it is induced artificially.  Every time we become engrossed in a novel or motion picture, we are in a natural hypnotic trance.” (p. 15)   What this suggests is that the experience of hypnosis is not some new experience but something you have experienced before.

Where hypnosis is powerful relates to using the tools very intentionally whether you are doing this for yourself (self-hypnosis) or with the support of a hypnotist.  Hypnosis is commonly used in helping people to make behavior changes, but in essence, it can also be used to make mental changes.  This is what makes those changes in a person’s experience.

Why the term Self-healing?

The term self-healing relates to the person’s ability to help themselves.  As a hypnotist, I view myself as a facilitator.  There is a common phrase that “all hypnosis is self-hypnosis.”

I am just here to support the client in resolving their own issues using the tools of hypnosis to facilitate changes in the client’s experience.
